The SMPO/POD project is invested in and operated by China Sea Shell Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Sea Shell"), and China Oil Huizhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is responsible for its construction. There are six new production units: one 750,000-ton-per-year ethylbenzene unit, one 630,000-ton-per-year styrene unit, one 300,000-ton-per-year propylene oxide unit, two 250,000-ton-per-year polyether polyol units, and one 100,000-ton-per-year polymer polyether unit. The products can be widely used in industries like construction and packaging materials, rubber, coatings, mattresses, furniture, electronics, clothing, and automobiles.
